Avante Audio, a division of ADJ, is a relatively new player on the speaker market and has already made an impressive debut with their Achromic Series launched in 2017. With DJs and performers in mind, Avante Audio developed a minimalist design. The term “avante” comes from the Latin American nautical term meaning ‘forward’, and, certainly, Avante’s Achromatic Speakers take speaker design forward in a way that has grabbed the market.
The Achromic Series offers three options: the 10″ A10, 12″ A12, and 15″ A15. Power ranges from 1000 Watts for the A10, to 1200 Watts for the A12 and A15. In addition there are two subwoofer options: the 15″ A15S and the 18″ A18S. The integrated Class D amplifier delivers 1600 watts that put plenty of woof into the sub.
Every model in the series boasts a Digital Signal Processor (DSP), which is accessed via an LCD screen on the speaker’s rear panel. The speakers can be configured for different styles of music being played. Users can also set EQ and speaker placement using the panel.
In addition to liking the sleek design, Avante Audio users are impressed with the audio clarity and the fan base is growing. Avante is finding its way into audio production companies, places of worship and of course with musicians and sound techs who note its versatility as a speaker for studios and for use on tour.
The A10, A12 and A15 models feature two power amps; the high-efficiency fan cooled Class A/B switching power amp for the highs, and a Class D power amp for the low end. The full-range speakers come with a 35mm pole socket and offer two positions – zero or a 7.5-degree downward tilt for stand mounting, and they can also be flown using the built-in M10 fly points. Users can also wall mount them or use them as a main or floor monitor.
Toby Velazquez, President of the ADJ Group of Companies, describes this robust speaker brand as one that “will bring a new voice to the professional audio market, providing innovative audio engineering at affordable prices. Our mission, with Avante, is to provide a high-quality audio experience delivered through a system that is engineered to appear as beautiful as it sounds.”
So far, the market agrees with him.
