AlphaTheta Corporation announces the release of the new DDJ-FLX6-W from its Pioneer DJ brand. This limited-edition version of the popular DJ controller for rekordbox™ and Serato DJ Pro, comes in a high-quality matte white finish, bringing a fresh look to any DJ event, livestream or home setup.
The 4-channel DDJ-FLX6-W includes all the functions and performance features of the original controller, making it easy to mix songs from different genres, spice up sets with pro-sounding scratch effects, and hype up the audience. The controller is a Hardware Unlock device for rekordbox and unlocks the DJ performance functions in Serato DJ Pro, allowing artists to choose which free software application to run on their laptop.
With music readily available via streaming services, DJs are constantly discovering new music genres. While it might be natural for a DJ to play the sounds they love during a set, switching between musical styles can be daunting. With the DDJ-FLX6-W, artists can effortlessly change from hip-hop to house, from rock to EDM and anything in between.
The Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX6-W has been intuitively designed to help artists perform seamlessly and energetically. The full-size jog wheels include a track position display allowing artists to manipulate the music instinctively. Beginning artists looking to sound like a pro battle DJ, can use the Jog Cutter feature to create a variety of slick scratch sounds by simply moving the jog wheel backward and forward. Other core features include Sample Scratch, allowing artists to take sampler assigned sounds and load them onto the decks, and Merge FX, enabling artists to create a dramatic build and drop with a knob turn and press.

Merge FX: Dynamically Switch from One Track to the Next with a Single Action
Adding drama to sets and quickly mixing different styles of music is now easier than ever with Merge FX. Regardless of the BPM or the key the next track is, artists can use Merge FX to create an exciting transition whenever they want. Artists simply press the knob to engage the effect, then turn it as fast or as slowly as they like to start building up the tension in the music. Depending on the effect pattern, the pitch of the track might start to climb while a snare drum sample is triggered at shorter intervals until the next song drops.
Artists can choose between eight Merge FX pattern presets (four if using Serato DJ Pro) and also can use their own samples. When DJing with rekordbox, artists will find everything is customizable. Choose from 41 types of effects within the four categories making up a Merge FX (Build FX, Build Sample, Release FX, and Drop Sample) and combine them to create more than 9,000 different patterns. Artists can save eight of their own patterns and use the FX Select button on the unit to call them up whenever they want to perform a unique mix.
Jog Cutter: Make Pro-Sounding Scratch Effects, One-Handed
With Jog Cutter, artists move the jog wheel and a professional scratch effect applies to the last Hot Cue or playback position used on the deck. There are 10 different scratch patterns and artists can switch from one to another by simply moving the playhead position, shown on the jog wheel’s display, to point toward the angle for the scratch they want to use. When artists lift their hand away, the track will continue to play as normal from the Hot Cue position.

Pitch bending and scratching feel natural on the DDJ-FLX6-W thanks to the large jog wheels, which are the same size as those on the flagship CDJ-3000 multi player. Each one features an On Jog Display, allowing artists to keep an eye on the playhead position.
Sample Scratch: Get Creative with Favorite Sounds
Sample Scratch is a pad mode in rekordbox which enables artists to choose sounds assigned to the sampler and load them onto the decks. When artists want to create a live remix of a track or simply add some texture to the music, artists can scratch with their favorite sounds. If using Serato DJ Pro, artists can use Scratch Bank to trigger samples by hitting the Performance Pads.
Plug and Play Compatibility with rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro: Play Freely
With a built-in sound card and support for the DJ Performance functions in rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro, artists need only to connect the DDJ-FLX6-W via USB cable to a laptop running either software application. The DDJ-FLX-W also comes with license keys for the FX Pack and Pitch ’n Time DJ Expansion Pack for Serato DJ Pro.
